Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a Production Welder to contribute to complex fabrication projects across commercial, bridge and industrial sectors. You will follow AWS and AISC welding procedures, weld in various positions, and ensure quality by inspecting fits and finish while handling structural metals.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 12 months of stable work experience, and the ability to pass an AWS D1.1 weld test.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 12 months of stable work experience.
• Must pass required weld test.
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals.
• Knowledge of welding procedures AWS, AISC.

Responsibilities

• Follow welding procedures per AWS and AISC.
• Weld in ground level, above ground and below ground in various positions.
• Prepare material by peening and grinding.
• Weld structural, bridge and industrial materials.
• Perform gouging and scarfing as needed.
• Capable of passing AWS D1.1 weld tests.
• Transport material by crane as needed.
• Keep work area organized and clean.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties per management direction.
