Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. is seeking experienced Structural Fitter/Fabricators to join our team in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read structural blueprints, fit and weld components, and ensure dimensional accuracy. Overtime is required as production demands rise.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, tack-welding assemblies, and coordinating with welders to maintain schedules while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Structural Steel Fitter or Fabricator.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience fitting and assembling structural steel components.
• Proficient with tape measures, squares, levels and other precision tools.
• Experience with tack welding and preparing assemblies for final welding.
• Knowledge of structural shapes, materials and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to operate common fabrication tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and with a team; willing to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and welding symbols.
• Fit, align, assemble, and tack-weld components per specs.
• Fabricate steel assemblies including beams, columns, frames, and braces.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prep materials for fabrication.
• Operate grinders, torches, saws and shop tools.
• Layout and fit components with precision measuring tools.
• Verify dimensions, angles, and tolerances per drawings.
• Identify and correct fit-up issues before final welding.
• Coordinate with welders and supervisors to maintain schedules.
• Inspect finished assemblies for workmanship and quality.
