Job summary

Kinsley Steel, Inc. in Florida is seeking an experienced Structural Fitter/Fabricator to join our team. The role focuses on reading blueprints, fitting, aligning, and tack-welding structural components to produce precise steel assemblies in a fast-paced shop.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, grinding, and preparing parts for final welding while maintaining strict tolerances. Overtime may be required to meet production objectives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Structural Fitter/Fabricator or similar fabrication role.
• Ability to read structural blueprints and shop drawings.
• Experience with tack welding and preparing assemblies for final welding.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and fabrication equipment.
• Familiarity with AWS welding symbols and steel shapes.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Fit, align, and tack-weld structural steel components.
• Fabricate assemblies including beams, columns, and frames.
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prep materials for fabrication.
• Operate grinders, torches, saws and other shop tools.
• Ensure dimensions and tolerances; correct fit-up issues before final weld.
• Coordinate with welders and supervisors to maintain schedules.
• Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work overtime as required.
