Job summary

Firelands Fabrication in New London, OH is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator/Project Manager to drive bid accuracy and successful project execution from bid to delivery.

Responsibilities include collaborating with clients, engineers and vendors, analyzing drawings, preparing cost proposals, coordinating schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality and safety in line with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/ mechanical engineering or construction management preferred.
• Proven experience as an Estimator in steel fabrication or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of steel materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate project cost estimates for steel fabrication.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to determine materials and quantities.
• Estimate labor, equipment, and process costs; evaluate supplier quotes.
• Develop bid proposals aligned with project scope and client requirements.
• Utilize estimating software to improve precision and efficiency.
• Collaborate with project management to optimize bids and schedules.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates and methodologies.
• Monitor costs and report schedule/cost variances throughout the project.
