Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to develop accurate bid estimates for major projects. You will review drawings and specifications, prepare detailed takeoffs, and price shop labor, materials and equipment costs for bids.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with structural steel estimating processes, and collaboration with Sales and Pre-construction teams to meet deadlines and client needs.

Qualifications

• Review blueprints, specifications to prepare estimates.
• Prepare detailed takeoffs of steel materials, shop labor, and field erection.
• Create bid estimates including crane costs and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Type estimates into in-house software with drawings and numbers.
• Read bid instructions and interpret project requirements for accurate pricing.
• Collaborate with Sales and Pre-construction teams to define size/scope and deadlines.
