Job summary

Integrated Structures Corp. is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator in New York to prepare complete and accurate estimates for fabrication and erection projects.

You will review drawings, perform takeoffs, and coordinate pricing with suppliers to deliver competitive bids that drive profitable work. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural steel estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and project specifications.
• Experience with structural steel estimating and takeoff software (Tekla EPM/PowerFab, Steel Genie, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs for structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and project managers during the bidding process.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain historical pricing databases and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
• Assist with contract reviews and post-award handoffs to project management.
• Monitor market conditions, material pricing, and labor trends that affect project costs.
• Support project teams with change orders, scope reviews, and budget analysis throughout construction.

Position Summary

The Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for preparing complete and accurate estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects. • Knowledge of connection design, stairs, railings, embeds, and miscellaneous metals.
• Experience working with fabrication shops and erection contractors.
• Familiarity with Procore or other construction management platforms.
