Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in industrial painting, coatings inspection, or structural steel manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel before, during, and after blasting and coating operations.
• Verify surface preparation standards, cleanliness, and blast profiles.
• Measure and document coating thickness, adhesion, environmental conditions, and curing requirements.
• Ensure coatings meet project specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
• Identify non-conformance issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Monitor proper handling, storage, and labeling of coating materials.
• Communicate quality concerns with painters, supervisors, and management teams.
• Assist with customer inspections and audits as needed.
• Promote and enforce workplace safety and quality standards.
