Job summary

Cianbro in Pittsfield, ME is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform inspections and quality verification across structural steel fabrication and coating processes. You will verify conformance to shop drawings, project specifications, coating system requirements, and welding/inspection codes, while coordinating with production, project management, and client representatives.

Qualified candidates will hold AWS CWI, NACE Level 1 Coating Inspector, and Magnetic Particle Testing Technician

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience or formal training in structural steel fabrication.
AWS CWI certification required.
NACE Level 1 Coating Inspector and MPI Level II certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections to verify fabricated steel components conform to approved shop drawings and project specifications.
Inspect coating operations to ensure compliance with specified coating systems and data sheets.
Conduct visual inspections and nondestructive examination (NDE) per project specifications and welding codes.
Prepare and submit inspection and NDE reports to meet contractual and quality documentation requirements.
Monitor welding equipment, calibration, and documentation; communicate nonconformances for corrective action.
Support continuous improvement of quality control processes within the fabrication shop.
