Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Staff Engineer (EIT) to join our team. The role involves design and development for dams, hydroelectric facilities, bridges, and water resources projects across the United States and Canada.

The engineer will perform analyses, prepare drawings, and contribute to construction support under licensed supervision. Ideal candidates hold a structural or civil engineering degree, have passed the FE exam, and bring up to 5 years of experience in water resources or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• FE exam taken and licensure as a PE a plus.
• 0-5 years+ structural design experience; water resources a plus.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards preferred but not required.
• Experience with structural analysis software and linear FEA modeling.
• Familiarity with ASCE seismic design requirements and related federal codes a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish project design criteria using structural design codes and jurisdictional requirements.
• Review and organize historical project information including drawings and specifications.
• Prepare design documentation and technical reports summarizing criteria and methodologies.
• Perform structural computations by hand and via design software.
• Develop project details and drawings using hand drafting or CAD.
• Edit specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Provide construction-phase services including submittal reviews and on-site inspections.
