Job summary

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus 2 years in shipbuilding/repair or AA/AS plus 4 years direct related experience.
• High School Diploma/GED plus 8 years directly related ship building/ship repair experience.

Responsibilities

• On-site deck-plate leader for the trade, guiding a team of 8–20 mechanics.
• Plan and project manpower requirements to support production activities.
• Review schedules and develop 1–2 week plans; communicate progress to General Foreman.
• Develop daily work assignments and expectations for the production workforce.
• Monitor performance and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and budget constraints.
• Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and proper supervision.
