Job summary

Steel America, a division of Colonna's Shipyard, seeks a Welder Foreman to lead a 2nd shift team in Norfolk, VA. The role is on-site, with flexibility and potential travel, focusing on supervising welders and coordinating production in ship repair and industrial fabrication.

Qualifications include a bachelor/graduate apprenticeship or high school with equivalent experience, plus extensive SMAW/GMAW/FCAW welding expertise and AWS D1.1 knowledge. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Registered Apprentice (grad) or HS with at least 6 years related trade experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train a team of welders and trades personnel.
• Coordinate job assignments and evaluate performance.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met.
• Review project specs and ensure contract requirements are followed.
• Provide daily updates to management and prepare production reports.
