Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer to join our structural design team in Overland Park, KS. You’ll contribute to conceptual through construction phases, using software like STAAD.Pro, RAM, ABAQUS, AutoCAD, and Revit to deliver safe, innovative structures.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare calculations and documentation, and help manage project milestones while advancing your technical expertise and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with welded and bolted connections; crane girders; large spans.
• Knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred.
• Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, RAM, ABAQUS, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare structural calculations, reports, and construction documents.
• Develop designs for steel and concrete systems including complex structures.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors.
• Review drawings and shop drawings for accuracy and consistency.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and milestones.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and field issue resolution.
• Contribute to client relationships and business development.
