Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer to independently prepare calculations and drawings for small to mid-sized projects in the Sacramento area.

You will coordinate with architecture and other engineering disciplines, perform construction administration duties, and develop project specifications. Proficiency in Revit and MS Office is required; familiarity with CSI/RISA/RAM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineering License is required.
• Minimum 2 years related professional experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RAM, RAM, RISA).

Responsibilities

• Independently complete calculations and drawings for small projects.
• Develop job-specific specifications independently for less complex projects.
• Coordinate with architectural, interior, and other engineering disciplines for coordination of the project.
• Perform construction administration duties including field observations, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
• Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
• Communicate design issues with senior engineer and design team.
• Understand design processes and construction means and methods.
• Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects on time and on budget.
• Assist with development of design standards.
