Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer Leader in California to steer medium to large-scale projects. The role requires PE and SE licenses and 15+ years of experience, with responsibility for mentoring a team and guiding design and standards.

You will develop client presentations, lead business development efforts, and ensure QC of design outputs using Revit, CSI, and RAM/RISA tools. This is a senior on-site leadership role in Sacramento.

Qualifications

• Requires PE and SE licenses and a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 15+ years of related experience in structural engineering.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes, seismic and wind design.
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor staff.
• Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit) and industry tools (CSI, RISA, RAM).

Responsibilities

• Lead work on medium and large projects.
• Manage and grow a team of Structural Engineers.
• Evaluate, select, and specify engineered systems for projects.
• Proactively represent the firm and pursue opportunities for new business.
• Develop and deliver client presentations.
• Assist with development of design standards.
• Hire top talent and mentor staff.
• Participate in business plan development.
• Attend events for leadership visibility.
• Act as QC reviewer on projects.
