Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in North Kingstown, RI seeks an Operations Supervisor - Structural to lead daily assignments, coordinate hourly crews, and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.

The role emphasizes teamwork with multi-trade Supervisors and process improvement. The candidate will set production goals, mentor staff, monitor performance, and support cost control while maintaining compliance with DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years steel fabrication/shipfitting or structural welding experience.
• Proficiency in blueprint and drawing interpretation.
• MS Word and Excel proficiency.
• Willingness to work all shifts including extended hours, weekends or holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily assignments of employees to maximize performance, safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Organize and assign work to hourly employees to meet schedule and cost objectives.
• Set and measure daily production goals; mentor and motivate crew members.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to reduce work order span times.
• Collaborate with other Supervisors to ensure first-time quality and on-time delivery.
• Communicate effectively with subordinates and supervisors.
