Buro Happold is seeking a motivated Structural Intern for New York to support our structural engineering team on innovative projects.

You will assist in concept-to-completion studies, perform supervised analysis and calculations, prepare drawings, attend interdisciplinary meetings, and contribute to sustainability initiatives.

This role offers hands-on learning, exposure to a global network of experts, and a collaborative, inclusive culture aligned with climate-conscious design.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in structural/civil/architectural engineering.
• Courses in structural analysis and advanced steel design.
• Proficiency with Revit and 3D modeling preferred.
• Interest in sustainable design and built environment.

Responsabilités

• Support the development and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept to completion
• Perform structural analysis, design tasks, and calculations under supervision
• Participate in interdisciplinary project meetings and collaborate with design teams
• Assist in preparing technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Support structural embodied carbon assessments and sustainability initiatives
• Contribute to site visits and help monitor construction progress

Your skills and experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in structural, civil or architectural engineering with an emphasis on structures
• Relevant coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design, advanced reinforced concrete design
• Revit and 3D modeling skills (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.) are a plus
• Demonstrated interest in the built environment and sustainable design
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
