Buro Happold is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in shaping innovative and sustainable engineering solutions in Los Angeles. You will work with leaders in the field, contributing to projects from concept through delivery and supporting sustainability initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role emphasizes structural analysis, design, and collaboration across disciplines, with opportunities for professional growth and exposure

Qualifications

• Master's degree in structural, civil, or architectural engineering with emphasis on structures.
• Coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design.
• Coursework in earthquake engineering is strongly preferred.
• Structural project design experience via prior internship or coursework projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the progression and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Perform detailed structural analysis, design, and calculations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary project meetings.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Support structural embodied carbon assessments and sustainability initiatives.
• Contribute to site visits and help monitor construction progress.

Your key duties

Your Skills And Experience

• Master's degree in structural, civil, or architectural engineering with an emphasis on structures
• Relevant coursework in structural analysis, advanced steel design and advanced reinforced concrete design
• Coursework in earthquake engineering is strongly preferred
• Structural project design experience via prior internship and/or coursework projects (prior engineering internship experience is preferred)
• Familiarity with Revit and 3D modeling (Rhino, SketchUp, etc.)
• Interest and/or experience in visual programming (Dynamo, Grasshopper), coding (Python, C#), and open-source coding projects is a plus
• Demonstrated interest in the built environment and sustainable design
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Salary range of $80,000 to $83,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
