Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. in Florida is seeking experienced Structural Fitter/Fabricators to join our manufacturing team.

You will read structural blueprints, fit and tack-weld components, and prepare assemblies for final welding in a fast-paced shop. Applicants should be proficient with tape measures, squares, levels, grinders, and cutting torches, and able to maintain dimensional accuracy while working with wide-flange beams, channels, and plates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Structural Steel Fitter or Fabricator
• Ability to read structural steel blueprints and shop drawings
• Experience fitting and assembling structural steel components
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (tape measures, squares, levels)
• Experience with tack welding and preparing assemblies for welding
• Familiarity with AWS welding symbols and structural steel fabrication quality standards

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
• Fit, align, assemble, and tack-weld structural steel components
• Fabricate structural steel assemblies including beams, columns, frames and miscellaneous components
• Measure, mark, cut, grind, and prepare materials for fabrication and assembly
• Operate grinders, cutting torches, saws and other shop tools
• Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy and quality
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
