Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. seeks a Structural Field Inspector to support Asset Management in the Atlantic Region (PA, OH, KY, MD, WV, VA, NC, GA, SC). You will perform field inspections of industrial structures, document conditions, collect data, and ensure safety and client requirements.

Regular travel to client facilities is required. Responsibilities include data collection, reporting, and coordination with the Field Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and hands on inspection experience
• At least 3+ years of experience performing structural or asset integrity inspections in industrial environments
• TWIC card holder preferred
• Prior experience supporting Asset Management/Asset Integrity/RBI programs is preferred
• Familiarity with digital inspection tools, mobile data collection, or asset tracking systems is preferred
• Experience at asset intensive facilities (power gen, oil & gas, refineries, chemical plants, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of existing industrial structures and collect high quality field notes, photographs, measurements, and supporting documentation
• Document observable structural deficiencies, damage, deterioration, and safety concerns
• Communicate Priority 1 findings promptly during field activities
• Coordinate daily field activities with the Field Project Manager and client contacts
• Maintain records of inspected assets and observations to support Asset Management databases
• Assist with the preparation of inspection reports and deliverables with clear, organized data
• Mentor junior inspectors and field staff as needed
