Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Structural Field Inspector to support Asset Management programs. The role involves performing field inspections of industrial structures, documenting conditions with photos and notes, and ensuring data quality to support risk-based decisions.

Travel to client facilities is required. You will collaborate with the Field Project Manager and Asset Management Program Manager to ensure inspections meet safety standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and hands-on inspection experience.
• 3–7 years of structural or asset integrity inspection experience in industrial environments.
• Willingness to travel regularly to client sites and work in industrial settings.
• Experience with Asset Management, Asset Integrity, MI, or RBI programs preferred.
• Familiarity with digital inspection tools, mobile data collection, or asset tracking systems preferred.
• TWIC card holder preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of existing industrial structures, including steel, concrete, foundations, platforms, conveyors, bins, silos, stacks and similar assets.
• Identify, photograph, and document observable structural deficiencies, damage, deterioration, and safety concerns.
• Assist with preparation of inspection reports and deliverables with clear field data.
