Job summary

Red Dot Corp is seeking a Structural Fabricator QC to inspect structural steel fabrication throughout fit-up and welding, ensuring compliance with shop drawings, welding procedures, customer requirements, and company quality standards.

This role performs in-process and final inspections, verifies dimensions, weld quality, and site readiness, and works with fitters and welders to correct deficiencies before moving to the next production step.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings.
• Verify dimensional accuracy during fabrication.
• Inspect welds to AWS standards.
• Identify nonconforming work and communicate corrections.
• Maintain knowledge of WPS and weld maps.
• Read gauges and measurement tools accurately.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings to verify fabrication.
• Inspect fit-up and alignment of beams and assemblies.
• Verify dimensions, hole locations, clip locations, and connections.
• Inspect welds for AWS requirements and customer specs.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate corrective actions to team.
• Reinspect corrected work before release to next operation.
• Provide guidance to fitters and welders on quality requirements.
• Coordinate with production to resolve quality issues while preserving flow.
• Operate cranes and lifting devices as needed.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
