Job summary

All Things Metal is seeking a detail-oriented welding structural steel fabrication quality control inspector to join our Phoenix, AZ team. The role focuses on performing QC inspections across the fabrication process, including fit-up, welding, final QC, and coatings, while maintaining precise inspection records.

Ideal candidates bring five years of fabrication shop welding experience, strong reading of structural drawings, and knowledge of AWS/AISC codes.

Qualifications

Five years fabrication shop welding experience.
Structural steel fabrication experience.
Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of AWS and AISC codes applicable to steel fabrication and erection.
Must have structural steel fabrication experience.

Responsibilities

Perform quality control inspections during fabrication (fit-up, weld, final QC, parts and finish/coating inspections).
Record and maintain inspection records per quality system.
Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers and team members.
Plan and coordinate inspections as required to meet production deadlines.
Maintain compliance with the quality system throughout the QC process.
Lead internal and external quality audits and support project deadlines.
