Job summary

Leonard S. Fiore, Inc. in Central Pennsylvania is seeking a Structural Estimator to support our estimating team with a focus on concrete, reinforcing steel, and structural steel.

The role develops accurate, competitive estimates and supports successful project delivery on mid– to large‑scale commercial projects. Hybrid schedule in Altoona/State College.

Candidates typically have 3–7+ years of experience, a related bachelor's degree, and proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience focusing on structural systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
• Experience estimating mid- to large-scale commercial projects valued $12–$50 million.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and other estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings/specifications/ bid documents to define scope and quantities.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for foundations, concrete, rebar, steel, embeds, and components.
• Identify scope gaps and design inconsistencies in structural drawings.
• Develop cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, forming, shoring, and methods.
• Solicit and level subcontractor/supplier proposals for concrete, rebar, steel fabrication, and erection.
• Prepare RFIs, incorporate addenda, and support bid submissions with scope narratives and assumptions.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and field leadership to support buyout and value engineering.

We are seeking a Structural Estimator to support our estimating team with a primary focus on structural systems, including concrete, reinforcing steel, and structural steel. This role plays a critical part in developing accurate, competitive estimates and supporting successful project delivery.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Review structural drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to define scope, quantities, assumptions, and constructability considerations.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for foundations, cast‑in‑place concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, embeds, anchors, and associated structural components.
• Identify scope gaps, design inconsistencies, and risk within structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop accurate structural cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, forming systems, shoring, and erection means and methods.
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals for concrete, rebar, steel fabrication, and erection to ensure scope completeness and pricing accuracy.
• Prepare and manage structural RFIs, incorporate addenda and revisions into estimates, and support bid submissions with clear scope narratives and assumptions.
• Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and field leadership to support buyout, value engineering, change orders, and smooth transition from estimate to execution.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience with a focus on structural systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience developing estimates for mid- to large-scale commercial projects valued between $12–$50 million
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and other construction‑related software platforms for estimating purposes
• Proven ability to lead complex proposals and manage subcontractor bids
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents

Knowledge And Skills

• Detail‑oriented, analytical, and solution‑focused approach to estimating
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced team environment
• Strong understanding of concrete, reinforcing steel, structural steel, and related construction methods
• Proficiency with digital takeoff and estimating software (preferred)
• Solid communication, planning, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with healthcare and other complex commercial construction projects (preferred)
