Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks a Structural Engineering Manager in Duluth, MN to lead design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems for buildings, bridges, marine structures and infrastructure. You will guide projects from concept through construction, coordinating across disciplines.

Requirements include a Civil/Structural ABET‑accredited degree, 8+ years of design experience, proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 8+ years related experience in design of structural systems (concrete, masonry, steel, wood, etc.).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or other CAD software for drafting.
• Strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for diverse projects per codes.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings clearly.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers and architects.

Job description

Location: Duluth, Minnesota | Schedule: Full-time, on-site

Overview

An established engineering firm is seeking a Structural Engineering Manager to support the design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems for buildings, bridges, marine structures, and other infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to projects from concept through construction.

What you'll do

• Design and analyze structural systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations
• Prepare technical reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations effectively
• Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, and architects
• Prepare documents, detailed calculations, and specifications for structural systems within established schedule and budget
• Work closely with current and prospective customers
• Perform construction site visits and field observations
• Collect field data, perform research and analysis, and prepare field reports

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 8+ years related experience in design of structural systems such as concrete, masonry, steel, wood, cold formed steel, precast concrete, etc.
• Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong mathematical skills for calculations related to load analysis and structural design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD software for drafting purposes
• Passion for structural engineering innovation and design
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to success
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Driver's License, as travel may be required to complete projects
