Job summary

DLR Group – Los Angeles is offering a Structural Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 as part of our Emerging Professional Experience (EPX) program. You will work within an integrated design team, contributing to structural system design and documentation across various project types.

The internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027, is paid and full-time. You will gain hands-on experience from early concepts through construction administration, with mentorship and weekly learning

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Structural/Civil/Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM workflow using Revit.
• Passed the FE exam (preferred).
• Third-year student in an accredited engineering program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work with a licensed engineer designing structural systems for new construction or renovations.
• Attend design team meetings with a structural engineer and observe multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Assist with design and development of construction documents using Revit.
• Visit an active construction site (contingent on local status).
• Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other disciplines.
