Job summary

DLR Group’s Overland Park studio seeks a Structural Engineering Intern for the Summer Internship Program. You will contribute to the design of structural systems and work with a multi-disciplinary team within the EPX program.

The internship runs May 18 through August 6, 2027, offering hands‑on experience in a collaborative design environment. You will gain exposure to design discussions, site visits, and construction documentation, mentored by licensed engineers while expanding your professional

Qualifications

• Completed at least one year in an ABET-accredited Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering program.
• Experience or interest in BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit MEP) workflow.

Responsibilities

• Work with a licensed engineer designing structural systems for new construction or renovation projects.
• Attend design team meetings with a structural engineer and observe multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Assist a structural engineer with design and development of construction documents primarily using Revit.
• Visit an active construction site (contingent on local projects).
• Coordinate structural design requirements with architecture and other disciplines.
