Job summary

VHB is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for the Orlando, FL office for the Summer of 2027. The role involves supporting multiple disciplines, performing calculations, and assisting with construction plans and field data collection.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with an interest in transportation or structural design and experience with MicroStation preferred. Housing isn’t provided; compensation is hourly.

Overview

VHB's Orlando, FL office is looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2027.

Responsibilities

• Effectively interact with numerous VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner
• Assist with engineering calculations, analysis, and report preparation
• Assist with completion of conceptual, preliminary, and final construction plans
• Assist with bridge scoping studies and alternatives analysis
• Perform quantity take-offs and calculations for construction estimates
• Perform field investigations and data collection for new and ongoing projects

VHB does not provide housing for internships.

The hourly pay range for this position, located in Florida, is $19 to $30. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted hourly range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.
