Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern in Raleigh, NC to support engineers and designers on analysis, design, detailing, and rehabilitation of building systems. You will gain hands-on exposure to structural materials, calculations, modeling tools, construction documents, and field conditions with guidance from experienced professionals.

You will participate in meetings and site visits, learn to coordinate with architects, civil, MEP, geotechnical, and contractor teams, and develop

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Completion of relevant coursework in statics, mechanics of materials, structural analysis, or design.
Basic understanding of structural systems and engineering calculations.
Basic proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or structural analysis tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Internship, co‑op, or project experience related to structural engineering (preferred).
Familiarity with RISA, RAM, Mathcad, or similar analysis and design software (preferred).
Involvement in ASCE, SEI, or related engineering organizations (preferred).

Responsibilities

Assist with structural calculations, models, drawings, details, reports, and other project documentation.
Support the analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and related structural systems.
Participate in project meetings, site visits, field observations, and coordination with design and construction teams.
