Burns & McDonnell, Norfolk, VA, seeks an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks across market groups. Responsibilities include filing, data entry, documentation, and preparing PowerPoint presentations while assisting lead engineers on project duties.

The role emphasizes strong communication, problem solving, and a drive to learn, with a 3.0 GPA preferred and campus/community involvement encouraged.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with files, scans, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project issues.
• Support ad hoc projects with managers as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with policies and standards.
