Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Norfolk, VA to support standard engineering tasks across aviation, federal, and related markets. You will assist with design updates, data entry, and documentation, while collaborating with lead engineers on diverse projects.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program with ABET accreditation preferred, a 3.0+ GPA, and demonstrated communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled, in good standing, in a related post-secondary program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active campus or community involvement encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Present solutions to project concerns and stakeholders.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend actions.
• Support ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
