Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Honolulu, HI is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support design, documentation and data analysis across aviation and federal projects. You will assist lead engineers with project tasks, prepare presentations, and help with filing, scanning and data entry.

The role emphasizes a strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA), involvement in campus activities, and eagerness to learn as you contribute to continuous improvement and solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
