Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks a Structural Engineer for the Madison, WI office. You will provide design services for Substation and Transmission projects, reporting to the Supervising Structural Engineer.

Depending on experience, you may be placed at Design Engineer I–III level. Qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree and PE licensure or eligibility within one year, plus concrete and steel experience in electric utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering; PE licensure or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Direct experience in concrete and structural steel engineering in the electric utility sector.
• Experience designing cantilevered utility structures, towers, and foundations for substations or similar facilities.
• Knowledge of steel/concrete design, structural analysis, and substation components.
• Proficiency with engineering software and familiarity with NESC, ASCE, IBC, AISC, ACI standards.

Responsibilities

• Create or modify civil and structural design documents for projects.
• Develop steel and foundation detail drawings.
• Apply structural design software to develop and check designs.
• Ensure designs comply with project standards and schedules.
• Coordinate activities with customers, project team and management.
• Travel occasionally for projects and site visits.
