Job summary

J2T Recruiting seeks a Structural Engineer, PE to backfill a key role supporting expanding regional operations. You will lead structural design across wood, steel, concrete, and masonry, coordinating with project managers and discipline leads to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, active PE license, and ~5 years of progressive structural design experience, with proficiency in Revit, WoodWorks and ENERCALC. Mentoring EIs/EITs is part of the role.

What You'll Actually Do:

• Execute Structural Designs: Lead structural engineering production across diverse materials, including wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Coordinate Cross-Discipline Scope: Partner with project managers and discipline leads to align project schedules, address design challenges, and manage scope changes.
• Ensure Code Compliance: Apply relevant building codes and standards to deliver safe, high-quality engineering solutions.
• Mentor Junior Engineers: Provide technical guidance and support to Engineers-in-Training (EIs/EITs).
• Utilize Modern Design Tools: Perform complex engineering calculations and modeling using industry-standard structural software.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

• Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience: ~5 years of progressive structural engineering design experience.
• Material Proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on design experience with wood (required), concrete, steel, and masonry.
• Code & Software Knowledge: Thorough understanding of building codes, along with proficiency in Revit, WoodWorks, and ENERCALC.
• Mindset & Communication: A collaborative, problem-solving approach with strong organizational and communication skills.

Where and How Much:

• Target Compensation: $110K-$135K plus a discretionary profit sharing bonus.
• Schedule: 4/10s schedule (Monday-Thursday) or 5 8-hour days with remote options on Friday.
