Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 10 years of progressive structural engineering and project management experience.
• Proficient with wood structural systems; experience with steel, concrete and masonry.
• Hands-on Revit experience for structural design and modeling.
• Strong reasoning, organizational abilities, confidence and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish, refine, and enforce firm-wide structural engineering standards, guidelines, and QA procedures.
• Facilitate cross-office structural huddles to address design challenges and align teams.
• Oversee structural scope delivery, hands-on design, scheduling, and budget management.
• Provide mentorship to structural engineers and Engineers-in-Training across offices.
• Collaborate with Quality Officer and Studio Leads to streamline project execution and client satisfaction.

What You'll Actually Do:

• Drive Technical Standards: Establish, refine, and enforce firm-wide structural engineering standards, guidelines, and quality assurance procedures.
• Lead Discipline Huddles: Facilitate regular cross-office structural huddles to address complex design challenges, resolve technical disagreements, and ensure team-wide alignment.
• Manage & Design Projects: Oversee structural scope delivery, handle hands-on project design, align project schedules, and manage budget metrics.
• Mentor Structural Staff: Provide ongoing technical guidance, support, and mentorship to structural engineers and Engineers-in-Training across offices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the Quality Officer and Studio Leads to streamline project execution and maintain client satisfaction.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project management.
• Material Expertise: Proven design experience with wood structural systems (required), as well as steel, concrete, and masonry.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using Revit for structural design and modeling.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional reasoning skills, organizational abilities, confidence, and clear communication skills.

Where and How Much:

• Target Compensation: $115K – $130K plus a discretionary profit-sharing bonus.
• Schedule: 4/10s schedule or 5 8-hour days with work-from-home options on Fridays.
• Location: Kalispell, MT or Bozeman, MT
