Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a talented Structural Engineer with a PE license to join a well-established architecture and engineering firm in Bozeman, Montana. This full-time/direct-hire role involves leading design across projects from offices to schools and multifamily buildings.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients and contractors, travel for site visits, and mentor junior staff while ensuring code compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited university.
• Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• SE designation is a plus but not required.
• Experience with wood, steel, concrete and masonry structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead structural design staff through design and construction phases.
• Identify and solve problems to provide constructable solutions.
• Manage development of structural concepts, drawings and specifications with a multi-discipline team.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams and manufacturers.
• Ensure designs meet company Quality standards.
• Calculate gravity, lateral and foundation loads using structural software.
• Respond to contractors during construction.

Location: Bozeman, Montana Type: Direct Hire Job #8790 Salary: $95,000 Overview: Our client, a well-established architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Engineer with a PE License to join their dynamic team. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. Projects span a wide range of impactful work, including office buildings, schools, multifamily residences, hotels, restaurants, banks, and retail spaces. Occasional travel for site visits and client meetings will also be required to ensure seamless project execution and strong relationships. This full-time position is located in Bozeman, MT.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
• Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
• Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
• Ensure structural designs meet company Quality standards.
• Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads.
• Respond to contractors during the construction.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience post-graduation from an accredited University.
• Structural Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• (SE designation a plus, but not required)
• Relevant design experience with building structural systems using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
• A strong understanding of building codes and value engineering practices.
• Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
• Self-starter who can work independently and be part of a team.
• Outstanding organization, attentiveness to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Work independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
• Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and industry standard structural design software. (Preferably - ENERCALC, RISA, Simpson, or Woodworks)
