Job summary

IMEG is seeking a structural engineer to assist in designing and analyzing structural systems using diverse materials. The role involves applying engineering software to create designs, specifications, and calculations aligned with codes and IMEG standards.

Job description

• Assist in designing and analyzing structural systems using varied building materials
• Apply engineering software and tools to create designs, specifications, and calculations aligned with code requirements and IMEG standards
• Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build professional relationships
• Support consulting project execution as part of a project team
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and documenting design decisions and client instructions
• Monitor design progress
• Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks
• Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes
• Stay current with structural engineering trends, technologies, and best practices
• Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts
• Prioritize safety and conduct work ethically and professionally
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Develop designs and construction documents through the project life cycle
• Support construction administration, including reviewing submittals and participating in job site observations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Master’s Degree (MS) required
• Knowledge of design techniques and standards for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
• Knowledge of structural systems for buildings and structures
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Knowledge of structural mechanics and materials principles
• Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software and tools, including structural analysis and design software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
• Basic knowledge of BIM software
• Clear oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays
