Job summary

Markon, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the Naval Nuclear Laboratory’s Facility Design organization at the Knolls site.

The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team from defining scope to construction-phase engineering, coordinating with facility personnel, contractors, and architectural-engineering firms. The position requires regular onsite work at Knolls with up to 20% remote capability.

Qualifications

• BS in Structural Engineering required.
• 5+ years in structural engineering tasks.
• Experience developing contract documents and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Experience with construction administration (submittals, RFIs, inspections).

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects at the Knolls site within a multidisciplinary team.
• Develop and define project scope with sponsors.
• Prepare project specifications and cost estimates.
• Review structural calculations and contract documents.
• Provide structural engineering support during construction phases.
• Oversee design work by architectural/engineering firms.
• Coordinate with facility staff and contractors throughout execution.
