Job summary

Markon is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the Naval Nuclear Laboratory's Facility Design organization at the Knolls site, working within a multidisciplinary team on building and utility construction projects from scope to construction-phase engineering. The role requires onsite work with up to 20% remote work.

Responsibilities include defining project scope, developing specifications, cost estimates, and reviewing drawings, while coordinating with facility staff, contractors, and AE

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering required.
• Experience performing structural engineering tasks.
• Experience developing contract documents, engineering calculations, and cost estimates.
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support construction projects at the Knolls site as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Collaborate with sponsors to define project scope and develop project specifications.
• Develop and support project cost estimates and engineering calculations.
• Review project drawings and design documentation for structural integrity.
• Provide structural engineering support during construction and coordinate with contractors and design firms.
• Oversee architecture and engineering firms in concept design development.
