Job summary
Markon Solutions seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support building fire protection design reviews and commissioning at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory's Knolls site. The role ensures systems meet codes and program requirements, with regular on-site work in Niskayuna, NY and up to 20% remote capability.
Qualified candidates have active DOE L clearance with related fire protection engineering experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with project teams and facility
Qualifications
- Active DOE L clearance required (Secret/TS may be considered).
- Bachelor's in Fire Protection Engineering or related with fire protection major and 5+ years of related experience OR
- Engineering degree with 7+ years of fire protection experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform fire protection design reviews for new buildings and renovations.
- Evaluate passive fire protection barriers and their layouts.
- Review sprinkler, water-based systems, alarms, and interfaces.
- Ensure integration with HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems.
- Document reviews and testing results through closure.
