Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our US Mining & Metal, Process & Infrastructure Design team. You will report to the Structural Team Lead and may work from Tempe, AZ, South Jordan, UT, or Tucson, AZ depending on preference.

You will provide technical design services for water/wastewater, heavy industry, mining, and power clients. Our ideal candidate has 3–5 years of structural experience, EIT, and knowledge of design codes with proficiency in software such as ETABS or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university.
• EIT is required.
• 3-5 years + structural engineering experience with 2 years prior experience relevant to heavy industry.
• Registered Civil Engineer (PE) or Structural PE preferred with ability to obtain within 1–2 years.
• Strong communication skills with contractors, clients and internal teams.
• Knowledge of design codes and seismic design principles.
• Proficiency with structural software such as RISA/ETABS/STAAD/SAP2000.
• Proficiency with MS Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design of structural elements and components.
• Review building code requirements and design standards.
• Prepare client deliverables (reports, calculations, drawings, specs).
• Perform structural inspections in concrete, masonry, and steel.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on design tasks.
• Define structural scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
• Prepare and review engineering/cost estimates and assist in proposals.
• Conduct field work for data collection and inspections.
• Develop Construction Documents and CAD drawings.
• Travel to job sites for investigations as needed.
