Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the US Mining & Metal, Process & Infrastructure Design team. The role supports water, wastewater, heavy industry, mining, and power clients from Tempe, AZ or South Jordan, UT or Tucson, AZ. You will analyze, design, and prepare deliverables with leading design software.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of structural experience, EIT, and strong communication skills. Certification and travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Active PE or SE license preferred with ability to obtain within 1–2 years.
• EIT is required.
• 3–5 years+ structural engineering experience, with heavy-industry relevance.
• Strong communication skills with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Solid understanding of structural design principles and applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318/350).
• Experience with seismic design principles.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
• Experience with concrete, masonry, and steel structures; knowledge of foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design of structural elements manually and with software.
• Prepare client deliverables including reports, calculations, plans, drawings, and specs.
• Conduct field inspections of concrete, masonry, and steel structures.
• Assist in defining structural scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
• Prepare and review engineering estimates and proposals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on design tasks.
• Develop Construction Documents using CAD/BIM platforms.
• Limited travel to job sites for site investigations and inspections.
