Job Description

Candidates may perform various structural analyses including concrete, steel, and stainless steel. Requirements include at least 10 years of experience with IBC industry standards, current concrete and steel codes, IBC 2018, and nuclear codes and standards. Experience with Natural Phenomena Hazard (NPH) evaluations (preferably 2+ years) and seismic walkdowns of nuclear facilities is a plus.

The role involves preparing design and analysis calculations in a fast-paced environment, with projects varying in size and scope. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing structures related to buildings (new and existing), utility and process equipment supports, walkways, stairs, ladders, crane supports, storage racks, foundations, and seismic qualification of equipment. Construction support duties are also part of the role.

Structural analysis may include seismic response, high wind/tornado effects, explosion/blast impacts, vibratory or cyclic loads.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• 10+ years of Structural Engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; NCEES record is a plus
• Knowledge of IBC 2018, ASCE 7-16, ACI 318-14, AISC Manual 15th edition, ASCE 8; experience with seismic and nuclear codes (ASCE 4, 41, 43, AISC N690, ACI 349) preferred
• Finite element modeling experience; STAAD.Pro and/or GTSTRUDL preferred
• Proficiency with MathCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit preferred
• Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance; must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred but not required: 2+ years of NPH evaluation experience. A Master’s degree is also preferred.
