Overview: Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Software Developer IV to join the Portfolio Operations team, supporting a large, multi-year contract for the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP).
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data through testing and validation, complying with policies and regulations.
- Write basic queries and create or update data conversion programs.
- Run payrolls for testing and reconciliation.
- Create comprehensive test plans.
- Verify employee data, pay rates, and deductions; reconcile pay results.
- Conduct regression testing to prevent errors in payroll functionality.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve payroll data issues.
- Conduct peer reviews and document configurations.
- Perform unit testing and support application enhancements and defect fixes.
- Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, results, and resolutions.
- Mentor junior team members.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Ability to create technical design specifications.
- Experience with programming languages like Python and Java is preferred.
- Experience with database management systems.
- Strong data validation techniques.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities while overseeing tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Software or Engineering or 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably with federal government, DoD, Army, or IC.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft PeopleTools and SQL.
- Strong communication skills.
- Certifications in PeopleSoft PeopleTools and SAFe for Teams are preferred.
Clearance and Location
- Must hold a current Secret clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
- Location: Arlington, VA, with 2 days onsite and hybrid options.
