Job summary

PENTA ENGINEERING CORPORATION is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer in the United States to design steel and concrete structures for industrial systems. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to optimize layouts, reduce costs, and review vendor proposals.

The role requires 5–10 years of structural experience, PE licensure (or pursuit), and strong knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, and BIM tools like Revit. Occasional travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering (industrial project experience preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or actively pursuing.
• Good knowledge of current codes - AISC (Steel), ACI (Concrete), and ASCE 7; SAP2000, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro; Revit for BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design steel and concrete structures and foundations for industrial systems.
• Develop conceptual designs resulting in optimal layouts and reduced costs.
• Review and provide structural input on mechanical drawings, layouts, and vendor proposals.
• Prepare calculations, hand and /or CAD sketches, and direct designers in developing project drawings.
• Review structural shop drawings and provide engineering support during construction.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams.
• Travel to project sites as needed
• Lead portions of projects by developing the designs and coordinating with engineers and 3D designers.
• Under the direction of the Chief Engineer; lead assigned projects as the Structural Lead Engineer.
• Review work (calculations, models, drawings) and provide feedback.
• Responsible for the quality of assigned projects, including adherence to PENTA standards, budgets and schedule.
• Assist with estimates and change orders.
• Act as Engineer of Record (as licensed) and support department management when needed.
