Position Overview
We are seeking a Structural Engineering Leader to oversee structural engineering design, analysis, and project execution across multiple facility or capital project initiatives. This role will manage a team of engineers and designers, ensure technical excellence, and partner closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient project outcomes. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical depth and the ability to guide teams through complex design and construction challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of structural engineers and designers; provide coaching, training, and performance management.
- Oversee structural design and analysis for new construction, modifications, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure engineering work meets applicable codes, specifications, and safety standards (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.).
- Manage project schedules, resource planning, and workload distribution across internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct and lead design reviews, ensuring alignment with mechanical, civil, electrical, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with construction and project management teams during installation, commissioning, and field verification.
- Develop and enforce QA/QC standards, documentation requirements, and engineering best practices.
- Support cost estimation, material selection, and project scoping to promote efficiency and cost control.
- Troubleshoot structural issues and provide timely technical solutions during project execution.
- Conduct occasional site visits to assess field conditions and support project progress.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License required (or ability to obtain).
- 8+ years of structural engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or related environments.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis software and CAD tools (STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or serving in a technical leadership capacity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and present recommendations clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting capital projects in plant or industrial settings.
- Familiarity with 3D plant design software (e.g., CADWorx, Tekla).
- Project management experience (PMP is a plus).
