Job summary

PENTA Engineering Corp in Tucson, AZ seeks an Intermediate Structural Engineer to design and execute structural systems for industrial projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions. You will lead portions of projects, review calculations and models, coordinate with designers, and ensure compliance with AISC, ACI, and ASCE 7.

Will travel to sites as needed and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of structural design experience (industrial preferred).
• PE license required or in progress.
• Good knowledge of AISC, ACI and ASCE 7 codes.
• Experience with SAP2000, RISA-3D and STAAD.Pro.
• Working knowledge of Revit for BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design steel and concrete structures and foundations for industrial systems.
• Develop conceptual designs to optimize layouts and reduce costs.
• Review structural input on mechanical drawings, layouts, and vendor proposals.
• Prepare calculations, hand and/or CAD sketches, and direct designers in developing project drawings.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
• Lead portions of projects by developing designs and coordinating with engineers and 3D designers.
• Review work (calculations, models, drawings) and provide feedback.
• Track project hours, budgets, and schedules.
• Assist with estimates and change orders.
• Act as Engineer of Record (as licensed) and support department management when needed.
