Job summary

Hti Hcat in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and analyze high-temperature industrial equipment, including fired heaters, boilers and reformers. You will report to the Manager of Structural Engineering and collaborate with project managers, vendors and clients to ensure compliant, safe structures.

Responsibilities include wind and seismic calculations, foundation design, vibration analysis, review of GA and steel drawings, and support for shipping and site erection.

Qualifications

• BS in civil/structural engineering required; MS preferred.
• EIT with plan to obtain PE within 18 months.
• 5+ years in oil, gas, petrochemical or heavy industry.
• Proficient with STAAD or equivalent software.

Responsibilities

• Calculate wind, seismic, dead and live loads for heater elements.
• Perform design and vibration analysis for exhaust stacks under seismic conditions.
• Provide foundation loads and base plate design.
• Review drawings to ensure alignment with design calculations.
• Guide shipping and field erection for fired heaters.
• Interface with PMs, Vendors and Clients to meet goals.
