Hatch Ltd. in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead and mentor a team in the design of steel and concrete structures for industrial projects, focusing on quality, cost, and schedule.

You will direct structural engineers and designers, coordinate with other disciplines and clients, and ensure compliance with codes and Hatch's safety standards while delivering practical, innovative solutions.

Qualifications

10-15 years in design of steel/concrete structures and leadership roles.
Bachelors in civil engineering with a focus on structural design.
PE license in Civil/Structural engineering.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary project team.
Experience supervising, mentoring and motivating engineers/designers.
Experience with steel and concrete structures design.
Experience with STAAD.Pro or similar FEA software.
Strong knowledge of design codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
Reports to the Regional Manager - Structural.

Responsibilities

Lead teams of engineers and designers on complex steel/concrete projects in industrial settings.
Support multidisciplinary project teams on diverse structures.
Lead or participate in client and contractor meetings.
Coordinate workload for structural staff.
Mentor Structural Engineers and EITs.
Coordinate with other disciplines’ engineers/designers.
Oversee design verification of structural calculations.
Perform site visits for assessments and client engagement.
Participate in engineering review processes.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Assist in preparation of design drawings and specifications.
Assist in estimating project budgets and costs.
Ensure integration of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation.
Adhere to engineering standards and Hatch procedures.
