Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer V in Houston, TX.

The role focuses on the complete design of complex civil/structural projects under general supervision, with leadership responsibilities guiding small to large teams. Qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s in civil engineering and PE registration are preferred, plus 10+ years of relevant industrial experience and strong knowledge of IBC and associated standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Knowledge of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.).
• Proven ability to lead small to large teams and coordinate scope, schedule and budget.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete design of complex civil/structural engineering assignments.
• Produce design calculations, sketches and material take-offs for construction.
• Check calculations and ensure conformance to codes and design criteria.
• Support drafting with layouts, details and packages for procurement.
• Conduct fieldwork for data gathering and construction support.
• Lead teams and coordinate interoffice execution of civil/structural tasks.
• Review vendor drawings and construction submittals for compliance.
