Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group in White Plains, NY seeks a Structural Engineer to join our design-focused team. You will work on building design, calculations, and coordination with architects and MEP engineers from day one.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• 2-5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction.
• Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gauge steel, and understanding of foundation design.
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction-level structural drawings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages is preferred.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and others outside the project team.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Utilize ASCE, AISC, ACI, and other relevant building codes to produce high-quality, safe, and economical designs.
• Attend client meetings.
• Coordinate with construction project managers, architects, civil, and mechanical engineers.
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents, as well as construction.
• Produce construction-ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams.
